The Time Has Come!

Great news everyone! Old School Essentials has arrived and we are prepping to get everything out! 

Timelines: 

• North America (Can/USA) should start to see labels generated today. This does not mean ALL labels. We have real humans working on these in real time and they will be out as quickly as possible over the next few weeks! 
• EU/UK/ Rest of World should start seeing the pledges going out soon. We are ironing out the final details but hopefully we will have a start date to announce by the end of this week/ early next week!

Important Notes:

•  Please remember that we are shipping the adventure Holy Mountain Shaker, at a later date. This will not be shipping with these rewards at this time. Please check previous updates for more info.

Waiting for a Ship — Submit any Address Changes

Hey everyone,

Just a very quick update today to check in. Nothing very exciting to report as we're essentially just waiting for a ship to sail across the world.

Adventures Still in Transit

As we mentioned in the previous update, we were given an estimated transit time of 4-6 weeks for the adventures to reach the warehouses. The estimated arrival date that we have from the shipping company is mid May, so it looks like we're going to be on the upper end of the 4-6 week estimate, or maybe a little over. From what we've heard, shipping routes and ports worldwide are really backed up at the moment. (Presumably this is due to the knock-on effects of the recent blockage in the Suez Canal, in addition to general pandemic-induced slowdowns.) Once the books arrive at the port, we'll post an updated fulfillment timeline.

Address Changes

We're currently discussing the exact fulfillment start date with the warehouses. Once we have that finalised we'll post another update letting you all know. At that point there will be a limited window in which we can update people's shipping addresses before we send all the data over to the warehouse. We'll give advance warning in an update, but in the meantime please get any address changes that you already know of to us as soon as possible. Just email us at [email protected] and we'll get everything updated for you.

Hey everyone,

Today we have some news to share on the fulfillment timeline!

The Timeline

Here's a summary of the timeline as it currently stands.

• March: Add-on t-shirts, posters, and prints being shipped out and we've seen photos of many people already having received them! We've not yet been able to upload the tracking info into BackerKit, but if you don't receive your items in the next 2 weeks, please reach out to Exalted Funeral ([email protected]) and we can get tracking information to you.
• Late April / early May: Adventures (except Holy Mountain Shaker) expected to arrive in the warehouses. (We were given an estimated transit time of 4-6 weeks from now.)
• May: Main fulfillment begins! (This includes the Advanced Fantasy rule books, the free booklets, the free adventures, the exclusive Dungeon Deity t-shirts, and all add-ons.)
• Date as yet unknown: Holy Mountain Shaker will be shipped separately to everyone who ordered it as an add-on. (As discussed in this update.)

Status of Rewards and Add-Ons

Here's a summary of the current status of all the different physical rewards and add-ons.

•  Add-on t-shirts, posters, and prints: Being shipped out. (Note that this does not include the exclusive t-shirts included in the Dungeon Deity pledge level — those will ship along with the rule books.)
•  The Advanced Fantasy rule books: In the warehouses waiting for main fulfillment to begin. (This includes the Advanced Fantasy Genre Rules, Spells, Monsters, and Treasures books plus the Player's and Referee's Tomes.)
•  The free booklets: In the warehouses waiting for main fulfillment to begin. (This includes the Advanced Fantasy Reference Booklet and the Kickstarter exclusive issue of the Carcass Crawler zine.)
•  The adventures (except Holy Mountain Shaker): Have been printed and are now being sent to the warehouses. (This includes the free adventures The Incandescent Grottoes and Halls of the Blood King, as well as the add-ons The Isle of the Plangent Mage, The Hole in the Oak, and Winter's Daughter.)
•  Holy Mountain Shaker: Is still in development. (As discussed in this update.)
•  Add-on stickers: In the warehouses waiting for main fulfillment to begin.
•  Exclusive Dungeon Deity t-shirts: Have been printed and are now being sent to the warehouses.

Adventure PDFs Sent Out Via DriveThruRPG!

Hey everyone,

I bring excellent tidings today:

•  Free adventures! PDFs of The Incandescent Grottoes and Halls of the Blood King have been sent out to everyone! 
•  Add-on adventures! PDFs of The Isle of the Plangent Mage, The Hole in the Oak, and Winter's Daughter have also been sent out to those who selected them as add-ons! 

The download links were sent out via email from drivethrurpg.com, so check your emails!

Having Trouble?

•  Correct address?: Make sure you're checking the right email address! The download links were sent out to the address you have registered with Kickstarter.
•  Spam?: These emails sometimes get caught in spam filters, so make sure you check your spam / junk folders.
•  DTRPG notifications?: You might also be able to see the download links in your DriveThruRPG account notifications.
•  Add-ons?: If you can't find the links for The Isle of the Plangent Mage, The Hole in the Oak, or Winter's Daughter, check in BackerKit to confirm whether you selected those as an add-on. They were only sent out to people who paid extra for them as add-ons, not to all backers.

The PDFs of the adventures are also now on general sale at DriveThruRPG, in case you want to grab copies of any you didn't select or recommend them to friends:

•  The Isle of the Plangent Mage: An idyllic cove harbours deep secrets. Magic and sound are entwined harmoniously, while dark things lurking in the depths rise to explore new avenues through previously locked portals. Adventurers will be changed as they explore the depths of the Undertower, unlock strange musical puzzles, and reveal the glorious treasures of the Isle of the Plangent Mage. A classic expedition into the Mythic Underworld for characters of 1st to 2nd level.
•  The Incandescent Grottoes: A bubbling stream cascades into a hole in the earth, leading to a series of underground watercourses and scintillating grottoes. Adventurers who delve within may discover odd mosses and fungi, a ruined temple complex, and the lair of a crystal-eating dream dragon. A classic expedition into the Mythic Underworld for characters of 1st to 2nd level.
•  Halls of the Blood King: With the rising of the Blood Moon, the accursed abode of the Blood King returns to this world. The lord of all vampires comes to claim the blood that is owed to him. His halls contain treasures and secrets that would make any ambitious adventurer abandon reason and caution to seek them out. Will you risk your soul for gold and glory in the Halls of the Blood King? A fantasy horror adventure for characters of 3rd to 5th level.

Rule Books in Warehouses! Adventures Going to Print!

Hey everyone,

We have news of some great progress today!

The Rule Books Have Arrived in the Warehouses!

•  US warehouse: The sea voyage to the US and the (sometimes lengthy) import process are complete! We now have approximately 15,000 Old-School Essentials books in the US warehouse! If you want to see what 15,000 books look like (packed up in boxes and crates, of course), see the video below.
•  EU warehouse: The European portion of the books (about 7,000 books) arrived in the warehouse in Germany some time ago. (It wasn't a very long journey.)
•  UK warehouse: We'll be shipping the UK portion of books from the EU warehouse to the UK shortly.

When does fulfillment begin? As mentioned in the previous update, fulfillment will begin when the adventures have been printed and arrive in the warehouses. (The 22,000 books mentioned above are just the Advanced Fantasy rule books — printing of the adventures is only just beginning.)

Adventures Going to Print!

We've sent off the files for five adventures to the printers today! All going well, that means that printing should begin in the next week or so. Five adventures? Yes, we're printing three new adventures (The Incandescent Grottoes, Halls of the Blood King, and Isle of the Plangent Mage) plus doing reprints of two older adventures (The Hole in the Oak and Winter's Daughter). (As discussed in the previous update, Holy Mountain Shaker will be printed at a later date.)

Adventure PDFs Coming Soon!

The PDF of Winter's Daughter was sent out yesterday to those of you who selected it as an add-on. We'll be sending out the PDFs of the other adventures over the next week or so. Prepare for serious (digital) gorgeousness!

Where are the links? All PDFs are being fulfilled via DriveThruRPG. Download codes will be sent to the email you have registered with your Kickstarter account. Please make sure to check your spam folders etc.

Cleric and Magic-User Spell Tracker PDF

A little free PDF was just released which you might like to download: the Cleric and Magic-User Spell Tracker. What does it include?

• Complete cleric and magic-user spell lists, including summaries of spell effects.
• Check boxes for memorized spells and spells in a magic-user's spell book.
• Form-fillable PDF.

Suitable for use with any class that uses spells from the cleric or magic-user spell lists. (e.g. also paladins, elves, drow, etc.)
